About MeHi, I’m Tayla! I’m from Doreen, Melbourne, and I am the founder of Tayla May Creations. Preserving peoples most precious blooms for them to treasure for years to come!Building supervisor turned floral preservation artist. My passion has always been in the creative space and have always had some sort of art and craft project on the go. Working with resin started from being obsessed with watching videos online of timber and resin river tables being made. So, my husband bought me a resin starter kit. I become consumed in learning everything I could about this medium. With having a background in the construction space, I started by creating timber and resin charcuterie boards, coasters and other items for friends and family. They were so impressed and encouraged me to take my pieces to a wider audience so I created an Instagram page and started doing local markets. I was so lucky to marry the love of my life, Ben, in February 2023! When Ben proposed, my brain quickly turned to… “Can I preserve my wedding flowers in resin??” After a quick google search online I found out that this was very much a thing. I started experimenting with every flower I could get my hands on and purchased countless online tutorials. Fast forward 2 years, with many lessons learnt, mistakes made, and techniques perfected. Here we are! It brings me so much piece and joy working with such meaningful flowers and creating custom one-of-a-kind pieces for my clients. Not to mention, now being able to spend my days with my dog and second in charge, Winston! If you love my work and think my style suits you then please pop through an enquiry. |
